Network for Business Sustainability
A Canadian non-profit established in 2005, the Network for Business Sustainability is a powerful and growing network of international academic experts and business leaders. NBS produces authoritative resources on important sustainability issues – with the goal of shaping management practice and research. We connect thousands of researchers and professionals worldwide who are interested in corporate social responsibility (CSR) and who believe in the value of research-based practice and practice-based research.
NBS uses its academic and industry funding to commission research on the Canadian business community's top sustainability challenges. We identify the best researchers in the world to study those issues and manage the research process to ensure findings are relevant and actionable for industry. We translate the academic studies into practical planning resources for business and disseminate them at no cost worldwide.
To date, NBS has produced 11 systematic reviews on sustainability challenges identified by our Leadership Council. These reviews provide the scope for all other work and publications.
So far, more than one hundred renowned higher education institutions from all over the world, like Harvard University and Stanford University, have become the members of NBS.
In 2014, SBA was invited, as the 2nd Chinese School (after CEIBS), to join the Network of Business Sustainability (NBS, an initiative founded by leading b-schools including Harvard, Kellogg, Cambridge, Ivey, etc., currently with 114 b-school members globally). SBA was then invited to undertake NBS’ operations in China, and will further integrate its concept, knowledge, and resources into the School’s curriculum, research, and other activities.
