SBA International Students Number Soaring to a New Peak in 2017 Fall Semester

81 International students from 12 countries and districts came to School of Business Administration, SWUFE in this pleasantly season. 2017 Fall International Students Orientation Day was held by the School of Business Administration in HongYuan building on 9:30, September 8, 2017. Students are from France, UK, Germany, South Korea, Switzerland, Sweden, Morocco, etc. Prof. YANG Shilei, Associate Dean of SBA and Prof. TANG Mingfeng, Director of International Affairs Office of SBA participated in the Orientation and share the first class with all the international students.
First of all, Prof. Yang Shilei made the opening speech and warmly welcomed the arrival of foreign students. Then, Prof. Tang Mingfeng introduced SWUFE and SBA with confidence and hope. John KIM from South Korea vividly describes two years’ life in SWUFE. German doctorial exchange student Simone Wiesenauer shared her experience of how to avoid culture shock. Jonas Thürig from Switzerland introduced his country and home university and expressed his expectation of studying in SWUFE.
Then two ISA members gave students a brief introduction of activities held by ISA each year and the incoming 2017 Fall SWUFE Sports meeting. They encouraged international students to participate in the sports meeting and wished them a happy life in Chengdu.
At last, international students visited the SWUFE Historical Museum. Staff there introduced important events and development in SWUFE history, which impressed all the students.
During the lunch time, international students had an essential Chinese food experience in Liuyuan restaurant on campus. Sitting around the tables, international students enjoyed the delicious dishes with happy laughter, chatting cheerfully. They are all overwhelmed by the vast and taste of Chinese food.
2017 Fall Semester International Students Orientation has a complete success. Seeing the changes and successes we have made, International Affairs Office of SBA will go further to develop better exchange programs for more students. And we hope every student has their wonderful and meaningful life in China.
